End of the Year 2010-11

Dear Students and Parents,

I can't believe the year has come to a close! I'm sitting here in our old classroom surrounded by packing boxes, ready for our move upstairs.

I would like to thank you all for helping to make this year such a successful one. I have always felt and appreciated that we were working together for the benefit of all the children in the Middle Primary Class.

Before you set off around the world, please spend some time sharing your child's updated portfolio. It's just a small part of what we do, sometimes I wish I could capture those amazing conversations that happen spontaneously as we dig deeper into our units and share them with you directly!  I hope my blog has helped open a window to some of those experiences.

Over the summer please revisit the vocabulary for shape, both 2D and 3D, as we'll be continuing our inquiry on our return. Take a picture of any interesting shapes you come across too. Also check out our wiki for a writing task connected to our last visit to the museum in Zug. Kathy and I have a book in the making connected to that visit, so we'll add stories as they come in.

I wish you all a wonderful summer.
Safe journeys and happy times!
